Call me Ishmael...or Danny.

Amy and I are almost famous. Allow me to set the stage for you... It is about 11:45pm in the lobby of an undisclosed hotel. Amy and I are having a riveting conversation about bear attacks when we spot him, Captain Ahab. I suddenly stop talking, not even finishing my comment about Timothy and his girlfriend being eaten by a bear. We quietly follow him through the lobby, all the time wondering if we have indeed spotted Danny or if it is simply a homeless man. We approach the elevators, he turns to us, and says, "After you."

We enjoy a silent ride in the elevator with Danny, and exit on the second floor as he inserts his room key in the special slot which grants him access to the elite upper level floors.

Are you skeptical about my story? Well you shouldn't be. The next day I received some top secret information about this. So now that I'm nearly famous I'm sure you want my autograph or something... I'd be happy to send it to you.

"I want that."

Jonsi has been known to bring home lovely "gifts" from time-to-time. Some of his most memorable presents include a stuffed bear, a beaded necklace, soiled diapers, and various animal remains. Our puppy really outdid himself today when he brought home this breathtaking treasure:

I can picture it now... while digging though the neighbor's trash Jonsi spots its majestic sails slightly waving in the breeze. He can't take his eyes off of it and he thinks to himself, "I want that."

Snapshots

For what seemed like the first time in an eternity, the sun was shining and the thermometer climbed ever so slightly above freezing. Considering the foggy ugliness of this winter, it was a welcome change and we decided we really ought to head to Idaho. Of course we had to go to "Adventure's First Stop" to acquire some much needed goods first. Our bellies full of nachos and hot dogs, we headed north. As we drove along, The Faint caressing our ears, we discussed where the day should take us. We contemplated heading northwest to the creepy little hamlet of Oxford, but decided we might end up hanging from a meat hook in a damp cellar before the day was through if we stopped there... So we turned to the east, and the quirky little town of Mink Creek. Along the way we were greeted by some rather large deer, a smattering of hawks, a herd of turkeys, and several pheasant. I guess we weren't the only ones enjoying the sunshine today. Here are some snapshots from along the way:
